Jessica Ogden for ASOS
Jessica Ogden, known for her beautiful reworkings of old and distressed fabrics, may just have found her dream ticket with her latest project – an eleven-piece collection for ASOS, Made in Africa.
The Paris-based designer has created a ‘20s-inspired range for S/S’11, which uses trompe l’oeil-effect beading on summery pieces in a graphic palette of black, white and red (we’re particularly in love with the A-line dresses and floral-print tunic top).
Now in its third season, the new ASOS Africa collection features tailored pieces such as a raw-hemmed crop jacket and shorts, and hand woven fabric produced exclusively for the collection in Mobassa.
Both collections are produced in Kenya to support the work of SOKO (a workshop dedicated to developing a sustainable and long term solution to the economic problems in the Kenyan community).
We are donating $9 from every item sold from both the ASOS Africa and Jessica Ogden for ASOS collections to enable SOKO to build a new workshop; ASOS will match fund each purchase with an additional $9.
