GROOMING

3 VACAY HAIRSTYLES

By Sam Higgins, August 12, 2017

It’s easy to get consumed with pre-vacation excitement, investing in countless new threads for inevitable pre-dinner photo shoots. But the simple things, like boasting a freshly trimmed haircut, are just as important. With that in mind, we’ve explored three styles that’ll have you looking sharp wherever your summer break takes you.

Short stuff

When it comes to vacation hair, the classic cut is a fairly obvious one: the less up top the better. It makes sense — the last thing you want on your relaxing trip is to be faffing around with what your hair is up to or, worst of all, giving it a chance to interfere with your tanning. So, if you’re after a fail-safe option that’ll still look smart in your photos, keep everything grade one and fuss-free.

Embrace the curls

However, if you’re blessed with curly locks, don’t let those years of eating every last bit of your sandwiches go to waste. Embrace the messy look by pulling your wavy hair forward and keeping the sides mid-to-short in length. The result: a laid-back style that requires minimal effort to achieve but will leave you with a great beach look (especially if styled after a dip in the sea).

Blonded

Every man and his dog (and Frank Ocean, of course) has hopped onto the bleached trend this year — the latter’s choice of cut playing a big role in the narrative of his latest album. So it’s unsurprising that the color switch-up has been a prominent feature atop beach and festival-goers this summer. Unlike Frank, however, opt for a bit of length on top and keep things fairly short on the back and sides for a neat finish. Don’t worry if your roots creep through, it’ll only give your trim a strong two-tone touch before you re-dye. Save your lemons for that fresh holiday G&T.
