3 NEW SUSTAINABLE JEANS STYLES

By Rebecca Wade, August 17, 2017

Nothing beats that moment when you bag yourself some till-death-do-us-part denim that you can practically live in for life.

What you might not know is that, on average, it takes around 8,000 liters of water to make a single pair of those jeans — from growing the cotton to dyeing them just the right shade of blue – which is a serious knock to the environment. Doesn’t feel so good now, does it? Well, luckily for you, we've revamped the way we makes our ASOS collection pants, to bring that satisfied feeling flooding back.

Here’s the lowdown. While recycling clothing is nothing new, there’s a bunch of game-changing new tech on the scene which works to dissolve used fabric so it can be woven into a new high-quality thread. This recycled cotton, which is actually even stronger than the first batch, is exactly what has been used to make ASOS’s latest denim line. Available in light-wash and mid-wash blue, and in classic tapered and slim-fit styles, the recycled jeans not only look fresh to death, but each pair saves enough water to make over 3,000 cups of coffee. Just don’t drink them all at once.
