PFW SS18 STREET STYLE

By Lakeisha Goedluck, October 5, 2017

That’s it, folks — the SS18 womenswear shows have finally come to an end in Paris. If you thought that the guests in attendance had already worn their best gear earlier on in the season, then think again, cos The City of Light played host to some seriously well-dressed guys. Have a look at the street stylers that ended Fashion Week on a fly note…

Standout shades

This guy’s look is expertly tied together by the varying shades of red which permeate his ’fit. Up top, he pairs a simple knitted sweaters in a rich-burgundy color with the most FW17-ready jacket — a '90s-flavored puffer in a striking tartan print for added punk vibes. Down low, he’s rocking a pair of stone pants and Off-White x Nike Blazers — notice that iconic fluorescent-pink tag. Well plaid, sir.

Wide-leg wonder

While many of us are still grappling with the prospect of ditching our their skinny jeans, this fella’s fully on-board with the wide-leg pants movement. He knows his patched khaki pair will draw a lot of attention, so he’s made the wise decision to go understated with the rest of his ensemble. And you can’t go wrong with a soccer-print Gosha Rubchinskiy T-shirt, boxy black jacket and clean kicks.

On-trend sneakers

In the last year or so, chunky-soled sneaks have been propelled into popularity (hey, Raf). Currently, the most sought-after silhouette is Demna Gvasalia’s highly visionary Balenciaga Triple S — and here’s your memo on how to style them if you’ve got enough green to cop a pair. This guy knows that a graphic-print T-shirt, slate-gray slacks and a cross-body bag are all the accompaniments that these unconventional kicks need.

Popping print

One look at this fella’s outfit and images of Johnny Depp in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas come to mind. He’s wearing oversized oval-shaped glasses (presently popular with the stylish lot), and even has the borderline-loud shirt to go with them. On his bottom half, some sturdy white jeans offset the fluidity of his shirt, while his robust midnight-navy coat ensures that his get-up looks appropriate for fall.

High-end half-zip

Every so often, streetwear styles and upmarket pieces collide to create incredible outfits like this one. The most noticeable element of this guy's look is his retro-inspired, seriously vibrant J. W.Anderson half-zip, proving that he’s definitely got FW17 dressing down to a tee. To round it all off, he teams his top with a khaki trench coat, light-wash straight-leg jeans and fresh Gosha Rubchinskiy Reeboks. Oh, and extra props for that wavy Palace cap.
