Harrison Ford has literally been one of the coolest dudes in Hollywood since his breakthrough role in American Graffiti back in 1973. Can you believe it’s been 40 years? The dude was discovered by George Lucas when he was installing cabinets in the director's home. True story. The adventure-seeking junky always gets the lady (on and off screen) and has played some of our all-time favorite characters: Hans Solo, Indian Jones. Here’s why we want to hop in our time machine and buy this man a beer.

1. He delivered this memorable line in Star Wars: 'Well, you can forget your troubles with those Imperial slugs. I told you I'd outrun 'em. Don't everyone thank me at once.' Only Hans Solo (and a total boss) could outrun Imperial slugs.

2. He's a licensed pilot. He actually began his training in the 1960s. Nowadays, he owns tons of private planes and flies them all the time. Flying can make anyone a little nervous, but something about his legendary deep voice would calm everyone down.

3. He bagged Princess Leia. Okay, not in real life (that was Ally McBeal), but he still landed the cinnamon bun-haired girl of our fantasies. Sigh...and he may even get to reprise his famous role, as he's rumored to be in Star Wars: Episode VII, out in 2015.
