3 WAYS TO WEAR SPORTY PASTELS

By Maybelle Morgan, February 20, 2018

As we move towards spring (finally), a color palette that’s good enough to eat is at the top of the agenda. Think sugary-sweet Love Heart tones, but minus the twee or feminine silhouettes. Keep the trend fresh for 2018 with your pretty pastel tones contradicted in sporty shapes or skate-casual jerseys. Here are three ways to work it…

Check up on it

Tailored, classic pieces get a fresh spring update with a raspberry-ripple color palette, cropped lengths and sheer detailing. Blingy embellished mules plus chintzy gold earrings amp up the girlie factor, but then an oversized '90s acid-wash denim jacket breaks up the pink and levels out the sweetness for a more casual vibe.

Knitty gritty

After the cruel chill of winter, there’s nothing like some outfit brightness to have you excited for warmer (festival-going or concert) times. And perfect for such an occasion is this dreamy outfit, with a sheer minty roll-neck layered up with a '90s-style leopard-print cami dress. Wes Anderson meets retro-skate with these color-block sneaks, and some white logo socks and a dusty-rose fanny pack help nail that urban-cool vibe.

On track

This look is all about clashing up influences and unlikely pairings, so take your all-winter-long hoodie and tracksuit combo, but add a cutesy element with the granny-esque lemon-yellow coloring. Finish with retro accessories: think '80s pointed slingback heels and an oversized white cross-body with gold chain detailing.
