It looks like Taylor Swift is taking a break from singing about breakups and heading for the silver screen. After spending tons of time with her bestie Hailee Steinfeld (who's killing it on the cover of November's ASOS mag) and appearing for no real reason on the red carpet at the Romeo and Juliet premiere, it's just been announced that she's landed a major role in the upcoming film adaptation of The Giver. It's not surprising Steinfeld has exposed Swift to acting - Hollywood's latest dynamic duo first met three years ago thanks to another young A-lister, Emma Stone. They have been close ever since, doing everything from taking selfies (as you can see) to having lunch with Lena Dunham on vacation in Rhode Island. You know, what normal teenagers do.
The movie version of the book (that you probably remember from reading in junior high) will also star Meryl Streep, so it's likely she'll pick up more than a few acting tips on set. Perhaps T-Swift can add an Oscar to her massive rack of Grammys?
