EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YESTERDAY'S BALMAIN SHOW
Everyone's talking about yesterday's Balmain Fall '14 show at Paris Fashion Week for several reasons: not least, because Balmain trophy jackets were the
cult item of Spring '14 but also because RiRi is the face of Balmain. Here's the 411 on the hottest show of Paris Fashion Week so far.
When you're the face of Balmain (hi there, Rihanna) you can get away with skipping the catwalk show altogether and still wear the collection fresh off the runway. Go, RiRi! She did pop out at the end of the show to congratulate creative director
Olivier Rousteing though. The front row itself included editorial hard-hitters Anna Dello Russo and French Vogue editor Emmanuelle Alt.
It was all about the hot Brit models at Balmain: model of the season Binx, Malaika Firth, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Edie Campbell and Jourdan Dunn. Oh, and Joan Smalls and Karlie Kloss.
Now for the important part. Think: military-inspired colors, samurai-shaped dresses and animal-print skirts. Oh, and the heels were all made out of bamboo. And the new cult item? Well, after totally owning this season with
their all-kinds-of-increds bomber jacket, Fall '14 looks to be all about cropped, oversized leather bikers. Yesss.
THE HAIR! THE ACCESSORIES!
Slicked-back, center-parted hair and giant gold bamboo hoops ruled on the Balmain catwalk, matched with minimal makeup for a super-powerful kind of glam.
THE AFTER PARTY
And after the show, it's the after party. And this one was amazing. Taking place at Le Crazy Horse, there was an outfit change for RiRi, who swapped her khaki get-up for a sheer black number and partied alongside mega-babes Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls.
