Chicago-based documentary photographer Elizabeth De La Piedra has always sought to tell intimate and honest narratives through her work – and, for her latest project, she uses her voice to give a platform to the "creative, strong and very brave" Rashida Renée. Rashida, a trans woman of color, is living in a low income environment in California, and through her fashion blog has grabbed the attention of industry luminaries, such as Nick Knight’s SHOWstudio. By producing a body of work which documents a week in Rashida’s life, Peruvian-born Elizabeth not only looks to profile her in an authentic way, but to also convey a wider message of acceptance and understanding.
