Narrowing down all the kicks ever made into a top 25 sounds like the touchiest topic to tackle — but someone had to do it, right? And that someone was Neal Heard.

As author of Trainers and owner of a frighteningly encyclopedic knowledge of footwear, Neal was more than qualified to take on the task. With a little help from his friends and the general public, the Greatest Sneakers of All Time exhibition launched in London last month. As well as displaying the top 25 in all their glory and collections from the most fervent sneakerheads around, the space chronicled some of the most obscure and entertaining stories about the brands we all know (or thought so, anyway) and love. Did you know Nike bought the Swoosh trademark for just $35? Talk about a snip.
