GROOMING

3 WINTER HAIRSTYLES

By Ashley Birch, December 16, 2018

With December's continuous stream of catch-ups with friends, family get-togethers and late-night parties, gulp, a fresh hairstyle may seem like an unnecessary luxury right now. But... have you even considered that your hair will be the one constant of your look throughout all those events?! Yep, this is serious stuff. With that in mind, read on for three different 'dos that'll handle everything winter has to throw at you.

Curtain call

From oversized 'fits to chunky dad sneakers, the '90s are well and truly back. So, it's time to embrace another of the decade's guilty pleasures: the center part. Sure, it may conjure up bad memories of boybands swaying in front of waterfalls, but the style has recently been seen again on red carpets and catwalks alike. Even if you don't have locks as long as this fella, grab your go-to product, create a center parting and use some hairspray to keep it all from flopping around too much. Nice.

Wet hair, don't care

Slick-backed hair is an undisputed classic. One that over the years has evolved with the times — but now, heading into 2019, we're championing a traditional wet-look finish like this dude. It's easy and simple to maintain while being more than smart enough for any fancy events (or down at the bar if you want to stunt over the holidays). Just wash your hair, towel dry until it's damp and use either a gel or mousse and hairspray to style with a comb.

Disheveled, but make it fashion

Let's face it, there's going to be a few days throughout the festive period where you feel, how should we put this, less than 100%... so why not opt for a hairstyle that requires little maintenance? You know, the kind that you just use a hair dryer, apply a little matte product, ruffle with your hands and go. This look is no half-measure though, as bangs are famous for noticeably changing the overall appearance of your face. Following this guy's lead with a shorter length would be a solid first step into the trend.
