River Island snaffle loafers

First up, it’s these slick black loafers from high-street heroes, River Island. Step up your 2019 workwear look by matching the loafers to the accents of a check suit —  et voila, you'll be in the running for that promotion in no time. Alternatively, team smart joggers with a tucked-in tee or Oxford shirt for a steezy-but-comfortable date-night look. Handy, considering Valentine's Day is just around the corner...

Dr. Martens 1461 Ghillie shoes

First launched in 1960 as a purveyor of sturdy shoes and boots to work in, Dr. Martens is now a cult footwear icon. For DMs worth sliding into, the original Ghillie style was found in a Japanese second-hand store by the DM design team and brought back from the archives in this updated 1461 format. Bridging that tricky smart-casual gap, wear the Ghillie's with smart pants or channel the brand's punk roots with ripped-up denim instead. Pioneers of the chunky footwear trend, those cleated soles are also an oil and abrasion-resistant throwback to the brand's rich workwear heritage.

Reebok Daytona DMX

Originally released in the '90s, the Reebok Daytona DMX is the daddy of dad sneakers — and, nearly two decades on, the pioneering style is back. Designed by Christian Tresser (he gave us the Aztrek and the Nike Air Max 97 too), its aggressive, sports-inspired silhouette packs some serious steez. Check out this overbranded, white, black and highlighter-pink colorway for proof. Oh, and there’s the brands innovative "moving air technology" in that mega-chunky sole. And, yes, it is as comfortable as it sounds.
