Cozying up at home in that lovable (read: old) sweater sounds tempting right now, but FW18 is making a strong case for knits that deserve to be seen. And this time around, it’s all about the styling — whether you go fluffy and cozy or patterned and neon, we’ve got some seriously dreamy looks to inspire your layer game. Knitwear season, it’s good to have you back.
INSPIRATION AND ADVICE
ALL THE KNITWEAR INSPO YOU NEED RIGHT NOW
October 20, 2018
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: animal print is going nowhere. Our favorite right now? The tiger. This turtleneck number paired with pink and brown hues is giving us all the earthy feels — we're into the fluffy layer draped around the waist for when the chill sets in. Pull on your knee-high winter boots and up top, finish with tortoiseshell cat-eye sunnies for extra animal points.
It’s almost like neon was invented to counteract those miserable, gray days, right? Go for a fluoro-pink layer with a high neck and extra-long sleeves for added coziness, and tuck it into that midi skirt you wore all summer (checked, obvs). Note: emergency orange and bright green make for equally popping shades too.
We are so here for rainbow styles. If the balloon sleeves weren’t bold enough, try wearing with clashing prints — think contrasting striped top peeking out underneath plus streetwear-inspired, baggy camo pants à la this Paris Fashion Week showgoer. Chunky dad sneakers play off against the fluffy, heart-shaped bag for the ultimate accessory clash too.
For old times’ sake
To move your wardrobe forward this season, take a look back. Yep, retro-inspired sweaters are still high on our agenda. Pretty sequin and faux-pearl embellishment nods towards vintage dressing, especially when tucked into '70s-style pants. Bold, patterned knits topped off with ditsy clutches are giving us a real throwback vibe too.
