WHY CARGO PANTS ARE CARRYING ON FOR SS19
By Style Feed Staff, January 24, 2019
Carried on the back of the ongoing '90s revival, cargo pants have cemented their return to the fashion mainstream via the SS19 catwalks — and we couldn't be more thrilled. Easily recognizable thanks to their side pockets, these All Saints-approved all-stars bring a strong mix of military and safari vibes, which, ICYMI, are two of the season’s biggest trends. At first, you may think the somewhat bulky silhouette is tricky to wear, but they work beautifully with neutral shades and tailored cuts. See below for some fresh cargo inspo.

Fendi’s SS19 collection was a sporty, adventurous and super-elevated mash-up that had Gigi Hadid strutting down the catwalk in these beige beauties. Pants with pockets-a-plenty are traditionally associated with the army, while their neutral tones mean soldiers can fade into the background — but Gigi managed to remain the center of attention on the Italian label's catwalk, naturally.

Cargo pants bring back memories of late-'90s girl bands or rebellious early-2000s teenagers (inspired by Avril Lavigne in the Sk8er Boi era, obvs). And ASOS Kicki is serving some nostalgic angsty punk realness in this on-point get-up. She pairs her wintery, darker cargos with an oversized Tupac T-shirt and some XXL Buffalos, resulting in a laid-back look we'll be stealing stat.

Wanna go on your own adventure? Even if you're traveling no further than the end of your road, Weekday’s cargo pants will help you discover new (stylish) horizons. As you can see, they work beautifully with a crisp white shirt — and as for the socks and sandals, wear them if you dare for extra style kudos. Added bonus: you won’t have to bring your handbag thanks to the very functional (and steezy) pockets. Win.
