HOW ASOSERS DO WORLD CUP LOOKS

June 5, 2019

The women’s World Cup is just around the corner, and we couldn't be more excited. This year, Nike has created the tournament's officials uniforms, the first official soccer gear ever to be designed specifically for women. And, whether you’re lucky enough to be in France for the event, or just watching it with your pals, you too can rep for your team by rocking a jersey by the brand. To show you what we mean, here's how our very own ASOSers are flexing their faves now. Go team...

In terms of getting dressed up for the main event, Coco, our Junior Stylist, is serving up a lesson in more is more and we’re taking notes for sure. No points for guessing; Coco’s clearly getting behind the USA, and with serious aplomb, may we add. Not content with just the jersey, she's dialed up the tone with possibly the greatest statement pants ever. The new uniforms are all about hidden details and you can just about see the names of all the states as a tonal print to the back. It's the little things, you know?

Isn’t it great when a new top seamlessly taps into the year’s biggest color stories? Well, congrats goes to to Video Creative Nierohda, who's snapped up Brazil's bold-is-best home strip in a so-2019 neon yellow. Why stop there, though? Add some multi-colored legging shorts and you’ve got a carnival-inspired look to take you all the way through the tournament and beyond. Matching makeup is very much encouraged too.

Junior Designer Kate has opted for a tonal approach, styling out France’s home uniform with a sprinkling of streetwear influence in the form of those relaxed, techy track pants. It’s a laid-back ‘fit perfect for chilling with friends for the big game, or even a low-key beer garden if the weather permits. To break up the one-color approach, Kate’s chosen the World Cup Nike 720 sneakers. Score.

Speaking of which, Emma our Junior Designer has snapped up the French polka-dot away jersey and teamed with some classic blue jeans to mirror the deets. Très bien! With a relatively busy hexagonal print up top (for a soccer tee at least), Emma's chosen to pair the look back with some all-black Air Max kicks. Fancy footwork indeed.
